How to prepare the substrate correctly

If your substrate (wall or ceiling) has unevenness or holes, we recommend that you first level it so that the calcium silicate boards can lie flat during installation. Smaller unevennesses can be evened out with the silicate adhesive, for larger unevennesses or holes we recommend the lime cement plaster.

You can assume the following approximate consumption for the respective layer thicknesses:

approx. 10 mm plaster thickness: approx. 3.0 m² plastering area per 30 kg bag
approx. 15 mm plaster thickness: approx. 2.0 m² plastering area per 30 kg bag
approx. 20 mm plaster thickness: approx. 1.5 m² plastering area per 30 kg bag

If you then want to bond the boards to a freshly plastered substrate, we recommend spraying the substrate with the silicate primer beforehand. As a rule, substrates do not need to be primed, but this is recommended for freshly plastered or highly absorbent substrates.
