Mold

The origin of mold is mold spores, which result in the formation of mold fungi. Molds, in turn, are described by microbiologists as a systematically heterogeneous group of filamentous (thread-like) fungi. They usually belong to the so-called ascomycetes or zygomycetes. There is useful mold (e.g. as a food refiner) and harmful mold (e.g. in the form of mold infestation in rooms). The infestation of rooms with mold is investigated by the so-called building mycology. Green and black mold in particular is very common in buildings. However, white, red or yellow mold can also occur.
