Silicate primer strengthens the adhesive bond, makes installation easier and saves time
The use of a special Primer is essential when working with calcium silicate boards. Calcium silicate boards are characterized by their high capillary activity and permeability. A diluted silicate primer should be used to develop its full effect and ensure permanent adhesion. Do not use an acrylic primer, as this would have a negative effect on the system.
Also useful for pre-primed boards - without waiting time
Moistening the boards with diluted silicate primer(use a mixing ratio of 1:5 to 1:10 Primer ) directly before processing binds the dust and thus strengthens the adhesive bond, which makes the entire installation and filling process easier. The boards can also be moved and fitted more easily in the adhesive bed.
Environmentally friendly, safe and easy to use
Before installing the calcium silicate boards, the walls should be free of old paint, wallpaper residue, moldy areas and, in particular, gypsum plaster or other hanging boards. Applying the silicate primer is very easy and can be done either with a brush/brush or using a pressure sprayer.
The silicate primer does not contain any harmful chemical substances and is open to diffusion, which makes it extremely permeable to water vapor. It is important to protect windows, stones and furniture from splashes.
Can calcium silicate boards also be used on gypsum plaster?
You can also use calcium silicate boards on gypsum plaster. However, please use the "Special gypsum plaster primer for calcium silicate" beforehand. It is important that you use the special primer here and not just the normal silicate primer. The normal silicate primer can be used for the calcium silicate boards themselves as well as mineral substrates that are solid, clean, free of oil and grease, dry and stable.
