Smoothing/lime filler for a smooth surface and a clean finish
The lime filler is a ready-mixed dry mortar based on hydrated white lime, limestone powder and small amounts of white cement. By using the lime filler, you benefit from a smooth surface and thus create the best basis for a finish with silicate paint or our brush-on/roll-on plaster. The lime filler is an ecological material, which means that it is a biologically harmless raw material and does not contain any VOCs or produce any outgassing. Our lime putty can therefore also be used in households where allergy sufferers live.
Instructions for processing the smoothing / lime filler
For optimum application of the lime filler, we recommend pre-wetting the boards briefly with diluted silicate primer (1 part primer to 5 to 10 parts water) before filling, despite pre-primed boards. The smoothing filler can then be applied immediately and even more easily without waiting time.
Mix the smoothing filler in a clean container with tap water (approx. 3 minutes), the mixing ratio is 7 liters of mixing water per 20 kg of smoothing filler.
The smoothing filler can be applied in approx. 2 hours, depending on the air and substrate temperature. Apply the smoothing filler to the calcium silicate board to fill the pores and cover the surface up to a maximum layer thickness of approx. 2 mm to achieve a smooth surface without unevenness.
Please note that the filler may only be applied within the joint after the adhesive has dried completely. After setting, but before drying, the filler can be smoothed with freshly mixed material to achieve an optimum result.
After processing
After application, you can sand the smooth wall as desired and then paint it with silicate paint for the perfect finish or use our high-quality brush and roller plaster.
We recommend waiting approx. one day before applying a further coat of our high-quality silicate paint or brush-on/roll-on plaster. The renovation is finished!
